>>104693 (OP)When you don't know where you should go, it can suck hard. When you know, it can be gone through very quickly. But even then it's a pretty bad chapter; somewhat lacking in design and not very fun. But nothing to cry about.
>>104797Everything in Opposing Force is amazing except the final areas immediately before the final boss (which itself sucks, but it's hilariously easy to kill). Other than that OF has much better pacing than HL and feels more cohesive, whereas HL feels more like a set of different "levels" that you jump from.
>>105000Only absolute retards cry about On A Rail. The people who cry about it are the same type of people who think, for some idiotic reason (the most likely reason is they idiotically assume that since the game gives them the OPTION to use a railcart it means they MUST use it β people who also think they MUST use cars in FF8 because they exist or the Draw command or draw-points when there are lots of other sources of magic), that they must use the railcarts to move around when in reality the railcarts are entirely unnecessary and entirely optional and only slow you down. If you don't use the railcarts then On A Rail is extremely fast/short and also one of the more fun levels to go through.
>>105017Just make a save (not a quicksave, a "proper" save) after the train ride and start the game from that save every time. Some people start the game from just after Gordon regains consciousness in the Test Chamber as the stuff prior to that is kinda pointless to play through as you're just walking around.
