>>101649 (OP)Death Note would be much better if it ended at the death of L so Kira won (would've been MUCH more solid as a story that way, as the entire plot until that point was about defeating L), then have a somewhat ambiguous and partially open-for-interpretation ending showing him dramatically changing society for the better but also striking fear into people, and also showing what would happen after he's dead; whether crime would immediately return en-masse or whether people would be thinking Kira isn't really dead and some might see him as a sort of god and worship him, saying everyone should be thankful for Kira because he did so much good for society, and conversely there could be people who think he really is gone and thus they they decide to think they can do whatever they want without any fear of punishment and the Kira worshipers would call them unbelievers and there'd be conflicts between them. Nothing too detailed. Not much time spent on it. Just something similar to that – a basic overview of the consequences of Kira's total victory and the later fallout from him dying (of old age or whatever) – could be shown over the span of half an episode as an ending to the DN story.
>>101650AoT sucked since very early on. It started sucking ultra hard at about the episode/chapter with the flashback within a flashback nonsense. And that whole "wow this is some epic stuff" sensation or impression that existed in the first ep or two quickly disappeared into thin air. Stopped watching and reading after a few episodes/chapters because it was so idiotic (can't recall exactly when I gave up on AoT, but I think something like between 5 to 10 episodes of the anime existed at the time). From all the recent negative sentiments I've seen concerning its ending, seems I made the right choice.
