Looks like it will run at 24fps on a $4,000 PC (medium settings) and still look blurry because of all the upscaling and post processing. Good thing I'm not interested in this series.

Did I fuck up buying these or is this a total audiochud victory?
I'm by no means an audiophile I don't even have an amp or dac. However the difference between some crap stereo speakers, "gayming" headphones, bluetooth earbuds and proper open-back studio headphones is night and fucking day.

I was looking up studio headphones around $200-$500 and I was really disappointed by the selection in this price range.
>Widespread chinkraisin lack of quality control (Hifiman mostly)
>Overpriced overrated 10-20 year old designs still going for MSRP or more (Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic)
>lack of features, comfort, aesthetics and utility (like who the fuck is going to buy a pair for $250-$300 that doesn't have detachable cables or doesn't fit well on every head shape?)
>ugly glossy plastic frames
I understand for the most part you get what you pay for, but in terms of headphones this simply isn't true. The quality in this price range is hit or miss.
Spending more doesn't really help either. I can't justify spending double my budget for some raisin that will be marginally better than something less than half the price.

My friend has done installations of systems for a long time and I've been interested in audio for a long time. ~10 year ago 100k is ~10k now, same quality. At this point the ultra-expensive stuff is almost purely aesthetic. 5 years ago it was 25k. One of the most interesting physics-related industries where a ton of advancement happened recently and is still happening. Of course, there are a lot of memes and so on as well.

The price decrease is because competitors came in and delivered equivalent quality for far lower prices btw. It was not spontaneous charity from the existing premium corporations, they just had to adjust because the new companies started eating up way too much market share.
I don't know the "production cost" difference fully and as far as I know there's no real way to get this without knowing someone who works in this sort of specialized manufacturing.

Okay 'eens, my R50x came in. They're way smaller than my old headphones.
First impressions holy FUCK whoever said open backs dont have bass is lying or bought a different brand.
I feel like I was deaf my entire life and now I'm hearing for the first time.
Either the AD700x SUCKS or the R50x is so much better it blows the AD700x out of the water.
This is just as big of a jump in clarity as when I went from a $20 logitech headset to my AD700x cans.
Super comfortable, very light. Makes my AD700x look bulky.
Ear pads are soft but firm, the actual space inside the pads is small but not too small for my ears.
The soundstage is slightly more narrow than my AD700x but the thing is I can actually hear way more definition.
I was listening to songs I heard whispers in the vocal tracks that I never heard before.
The bass kicks. I wouldn't say the bass on these is the strongest I've ever heard from a speaker but it is very decent.

10 days in. It's still fucking kino.
However, acoustic songs and music with a consistent higher pitch or stringed instruments harmonizing suffer in clarity.
It's a shame to admit that it's not perfect but it's great and it's not earraping me like my old pair. I really grew accustomed to the warm treble in my ad700x even though it peaked unpleasantly sometimes.

those are a good set of headphone at a decent price. spending more would probably require you to invest in a whole audiosetup and exclusively use high bitrate audio to notice any difference

Absurdism is a sign of a depressed culture. For example, during the 30's we got "Looney Toons" and stuff like Marx Brothers and Three Stooges. People dealing with two world wars and economic poverty wanted to escape into a pure fantasy world where nothing made sense ("Clown World").

30+ here. Other millennials are terrible to be around, so I find myself miserable when around them. It really is a 99.99% horrible generation in its own ways. They've been getting into higher positions in the the video game industry over the last 5 or so years, and the hobby has suffered horribly because of them. Western games are almost completely dead because nearly all of them are so bad at making anything fun to play. Even most of the indie games that get any attention are just glorified porn. It's embarrassing how the generation that pretends to care about media so much disrespects it in every single way like it's a religion.
