>If you have paid any attention at all to the slam scene recently, you have undoubtedly seen a plethora of bands using rap samples and hip hop aesthetics and this band is the reason. Some may blame PeelingFlesh for being the reason the slam scene is like this, but PeelingFlesh songs are still better and at least have some good elements and songwriting to them, unlike any overproduced meme slam Infectious Jelqing has been pumping out recently. This band has had a disastrous impact on slam that it may never recover from.

Every sound sounds like it was run through a computer made to make it sound as perfect as possible, but it makes the song sound overwhelming and brain exploding.

>Additionally, the song is filled with meme sound effects and rap samples. In my opinion, bands like PeelingFlesh actually use rap samples right by not letting it define their entire sound. There is definitely ways to sound like PeelingFlesh without the samples, but that can not be said about Infectious Jelqing. Infectious Jelqing lets the samples define their entire sound which can only lead to failure. If you need 10 samples to make your song good and stand out then your song probably isn't good. Songs like these have no substance and will be forgotten in less than 5 years. The entertainment value of "haha funny meme sound in my slam" goes away after a couple listens. Now, I will admit, part of this isn't at fault of Infectious Jelqing. Meme culture is a forever shifting culture where something can be funny one week and be unfunny the next, but that only serve to hurt Infectious Jelqing. Putting meme samples in your song is a 100% guarantee that your song will be outdated in a week because most of your samples will be seen as just not being funny. In short, it just isn't a good way to stay relevant.

I actually watched it last night. I enjoyed it and it's definitely cool but I don't think it's some sort of amazing masterpiece, I guess I expected something more but it's still a good movie. Also the "clubbed to death" song that plays when Morpheus and Neo are walking through the crowd is gemmy, I have it in my playlist.
