By the way, I've thought about the opening scene, and I think we need an overview of Shartyville. If you've got Veo 3, try this prompt:
The camera rises high above the town, gliding effortlessly through the still, crisp morning air. Below, a grid of rooftops stretches outβsimple homes in varying shades, some weathered by time, others freshly painted. The streets are quiet, the soft morning light casting long shadows across the pavement.
The buildings are a mix of old and new, with the occasional tree peeking up between them, their leaves still heavy with dew. The calm is broken only by the occasional movementβa car making its way down the road or a figure strolling along the sidewalk, too distant to make out clearly.
Beyond the town, the landscape opens up to fields and distant hills, their rolling contours bathed in the warm glow of the sun. The town feels secluded, nestled in its own rhythm, as though the world outside is far away.

This is the more or less complete character list so we can get started on character designing and prompt engineering for them:
Nate
Chud
Generic glowies
Troonella/Elliot
Dr. Soyberg
Agent 'Plier
Doll
Hitler
Dr. E
Alicia
Fingerboys
Rapeson
Admin 6
Choos
Jake, Sean, et al.
Nate's family

Well, I'm going to assume the first two pages are probably safe to begin work on, so up to "At that moment, a video begins playing on one of the monitors depicting Jake and the other Splinter mascots in stasis…". I know there was character design work being done on Rapeson at least. Does anyone have those assets/prompts? I'm in UTC-7, so I check for updates periodically between 16:00-4:00 GMT, sometimes a little earlier and a little later. I think we should all post roughly when we're online to better coordinate.

What do you think about changing Dr. Soyberg to Dr. Soystein?
I got started on storyboarding yesterday. I'm up to where the phone signal cuts out. I want to do a "tech demo" preview probably up to around there to see just how good the AI is at this point and as a proof of concept. I'm not too sure what you mean about having to redo the entire thing over a bad line of dialogue?
β70376[Quote]
>>70374Swapping Soyberg for Soystein would definitely make for a more formidable foe, and it probably wouldn't take too much re-writing to make it fit. I'll do it.
The tech demo sounds like a sensible idea, although a part of me thinks that the AI doesn't really do a good job at making the 'teens actually look like teenagers.
I don't want to have to re-generate and or re-record scenes/lines because of an ESL moment or because I changed my mind at the last minute.

>>70673Probably not near completion, no. I've been doing character design and starting storyboarding but they're caca-tier doodles (still works ig). And here's the finished Caca design.
<begin autism blockFor organization's sake, I've come up with a naming scheme for storyboard panels and clips. Boards are lettered and panels are numbered such that a given panel may be referred to as A2 or B5 or AB6, etc. Corresponding prompts are to be likewise named.
Corresponding clips are a little more convoluted. They go: [generator ID][board letter][panel number][repetition letter][attempt number]. For example, a clip may be called 03B5C04.mp4.
>Generator IDa 2-digit number to identify who generated the clip (may be omitted)
>Repetition Letteruseful for cases such as panels B4 & B5 where a panel is repeated a few times (for dialogue or whatever reason)
if a panel isn't repeated, this is always "A"
>Attempt Numbera 2-digit number identifying the number of "takes" for that panel
<end autism blockThis'll probably be for my own cataloging purposes but it may also be useful for you to know.

>>70681I think there should be a bit more to the opening scene with nate, like him setting him the world and basic plot raisin. Reposting my own idea from a different thread because im a slf, you would still have the a24 cinematic opening panning throught the clouds, the town then his house, but the opening animated sequence would be a dream he was having.
Did you give caca clothes to purposfuly make him older, or were there like concerns of it otherwise being 'p?
β70688[Quote]
>>70681>>70682'Movie opens with the main character waking up in bed' is a trope that's done too often in movies these days. I tweaked the intro a little bit, so let me know what you think of this:
"The movie opens with a screen recording of scrolling through /soy/, this functions as an opening credit scene. We zoom out from the screen to reveal Nate at his computer. His mother calls up to him from downstairs, saying "Naaate! Breakfast is ready!". Nate calls back "Be down soon!". He turns off his computer and rushes downstairs. We get a montage of Nate's morning routine (eating breakfast, brushing his teeth, packing his things etc). Soon enough Nate grabs his backpack, puts his shoes on and walks to the door."
β70692[Quote]
>>70688This is good, we can then show what nate spends his time doing on the sharty. That being said, I wonder what the structure would be. Opening with something other than the town would have a stronger impact. If you look at any largescale animated movie from the last couple decades they start with something right off to draw the audience in before introducing the protagonists.
sidenote- I think when nate meets up with chud, there should probably be a narration explaining his character/personality, sort of as an inversion of nates opening. Like a montage showing chud trolling on the internet, and him talking to his dismissive parents(interracial libertarian couple?).
β70706[Quote]
>>70692>That being said, I wonder what the structure would be.Structure of what? Please elaborate.
>sidenote- I think when nate meets up with chud, there should probably be a narration explaining his character/personality, sort of as an inversion of nates opening. Like a montage showing chud trolling on the internet, and him talking to his dismissive parents(interracial libertarian couple?).There isn't a narrator in the rest of the script, plus "show, don't tell" is a pretty good rule to follow generally speaking. A flashback could work, but I think it'd probably be made redundant by their phone conversation. We could show as we tell to avoid wasting time, like when Chud says "besides my obsessed stepfather will beat me if I skip too much." we fade in an image of Chud's stepfather screaming at him while holding a belt. >Sort of like picrel
It really depends on who the protagonists of the movie should be. We could have three (Nate, Troon, Chud) and try to give them an equal amount of screentime. We'd give Chud a flashback after Nate starts talking to him. And we'd give Troonella a flashback after Nate and Chud find xim in the van. Alternatively we could keep things as they are now, with Nate being protagonist and having Troonella and Chud as main characters. I don't know how well that would fit later in the film when they're all split up in the soysylum, but I'll be able to make it work either way. I'm personally against having too many flashbacks, as I think it'd slow down the opening.
β70707[Quote]
>>70706>Structure of what? Please elaborate.Structure of the scenes, what the audience sees as the very first scene
>There isn't a narrator in the rest of the scriptAs in nate saying "this is my friend chud…" not an actual narrator but
I get what you mean, I do agree literally present scenes over abstract movie shit is better.
>It really depends on who the protagonists of the movie should be.I always got the impression that nate was the main protag, and since are hero group is so small chud&trooella are secondary protag as opposed to side ones. As in things start off following nate(he will become admin thrembo afterall) then goes to following the group, nate is still sort of in control. This time is used to expand on the other guys, so that later when they break off we can futher flesh them out(this gives us the opportunity give them full character resolutions by the end of the film)

>>70682Sora is strangely sensitive and wouldn't make Caca with just a diaper. I gave it this as a reference image. I could keep trying or try DALL-E or Hailuo but, given this website's own strange sensitivities, it might be for the best that he's wearing clothes anyways.
>>70688The tone I was going for is Marvelslop parody, though I'll admit I haven't really watched many Marvel films or films generally. Anyways, now that soynematographer's here again, it's all up to him. I'm relinquishing my storyboarding role to him wholesale. I was plannig on a The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly-esque opening credit sequence though. What you're proposing effectively does that.
<poop and niggers dyingI'll keep working with my own storyboards just for the tech demo. It looks like the best way to do it is to use an image generator to create keyframes then feed these into the video generator.
β70714[Quote]
>>70713I think giving caca clothes is perfectly fine, if hes aged up to a toddler then we can have more interactions between him and nate(as seen in some greentext stories)
>I'm relinquishing my storyboarding role to him wholesaleIm down for that, will reread the script today(not much time do to the 4th) and start working on storyboards digitally. That being said, we need a common consensus on the opening, I could very well do a few options and let you guys vote on one, but that would take quite a bit longer. I would much rather we have a complete opener set in stone before I start angle/scene blocking.
<side tangentOriginally I had assumed we were doing credits at the end, but I like the idea of doing them in the beginning. Throwing up all the nameGODs and their respective roles during the city pan-through will make the beginning drag less, it also will work out better since a good portion of viewers wont make it through the entire movie(zoomer attention-span and all).
How do you guys feel about using this song(a cut down version albeit) for the opening credits? Being that its the only high production, fully-original sharty song out there I wanted to try and squeeze it in somewhere during the film

β71691[Quote]
>>71594Interpolating between still frames, yes. Veo 3 only supports text-to-video. Hailuo doesn't allow interpolation but it does let you provide a starting frame. And, actually, based on some cursory research, it looks like it's actually the best video generator available right now overall. I just assumed it was behind because my main association with Hailuo are the caca-tier gigachad gifs that get posted here. The main issue is that it's paid.
β71701[Quote]
>>71691If you can get it done in engine thats fine, but creating an interpolated shot wouldnt be that hard to do in post
β71705[Quote]
>>71701By "interpolation" I mean providing a start and end frame to guide the generator (like I did with these). You can still obtain decent results with a starting frame only and then describing what should happen.
At any rate, current tech will probably limit our shots a bit. In other words, camera movement should be rather limited to restrict the capacity for hallucinations. So no dolly-outs and only minor trucking/panning.
